thank you for bringing up the fact that he keeps calling that pilot a colonel because when I was in the military full bird colonels were not flying airplanes. they were literally sitting next to the generals and the admirals.

He might’ve meant a Lieutenant Colonel. A lot of times, LTCs are referred to as “Colonel” for convenience. This is NOT me giving Trump ANY sort of benefit of the doubt, but a LTC could very well still be flying. A colonel, however, a full bird Colonel, will not.
