Obama was the first president I really remember absorbing his policies and overall political personality. He was incredibly charming and personable and because I liked him as a person, I idolized him as a president. I appreciate the reminder that even though I liked the guy, he was still a US politician and conducted himself as one.

Obama signed an executive order to close it within his first year in 2009, but faced intense congressional opposition. Obama had a lot of flaws but he was very limited on things he could do. People need to understand just how limited his powers were and why.
