There’s a ton of other fads that died in that era lol . Yugioh , digimon, sailor moon. Helk even Pokemon had its own video games and they did absolutely terrible compared to just putting that money in the stock market

IMO- it unfortunately will not be the case for modern cards. Vintage skyrocketed because of the high demand and low supply. With every one and their mothers now doing the same, the supply will always be there.
