So agree. I remind myself of this when I know I’m about to start impulsively buying items to try and achieve a certain ‘look’. You can be far more creative and true to yourself starting with the items in your closet.

I was trying to do the old money thing and felt so not confident and ugly. And it’s because I don’t like the color beige on me, I don’t like knits or cashmere on me, and I’m not a skirt girl. So I kept putting on these outfits that look cool on Pinterest, but don’t make me feel like me. Finally stopped doing that.

I was inspired by CBK while in HS in the 90s…I looked business casual as a 17 year old 😂😩 personal style has to be authentic to oneself! Otherwise it’ll be a miss. I learned this v early on

Yes! Its not about copying and pasting. It’s about finding items you like and making them your own and being inspired. Its okay for one style to not be your thing or not suit you. We need to find things for ourselves not for everyone else.
