Ridgelines Are Cool Trucks :
The 8 speed transmissions aren't so great reliability wise... That's why I got a Ridgeline instead of a Tacoma & I love it

the new engine is 100% better. while you are right about no knowing reliability, the engine is miles better. while the hp is almost the same, it makes torque much lower.

The 3.5L v6 is the best. Very modern and it’s based on a V6 platform that’s almost 20 years old and it still has 300 hp. They’re proven to be reliable have good power and you’re not worried about the fuel economy when you’re driving a work truck. They were the best.

Mr car salesman, please do your homework. The SR5 you showing is not a V6, it’s a 4cyl engine. The SR base is a 4cyl Turbo. Not same horsepower. 🤦♂️

The trend has been to shrink the engines hence the reason for the increased value for the old ones. I looked at the older tacomas and the new nissan frontier - hard to justify buying a used 100k mile truck for a similar price and no warranty BUT i do understand the reasoning.

Turbocharging was for one reason, to pass EPA start up emissions, that’s it. There is no other advantage over the long term other than more expensive repair bills
