@bossman_edits3: Jamie Dimon (born James Dimon, March 13, 1956) is an American banker and the long-time Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co., the largest bank in the United States by assets (around $3.2 trillion) and market capitalization. He has led the firm since becoming CEO in 2006 (and Chairman in late 2006), steering it through the 2008 financial crisis, multiple acquisitions, and its growth into a global leader in investment banking, consumer banking, commercial banking, and asset management. Born in New York City to a Greek-American family (father was a stockbroker), Dimon earned a BA from Tufts University (1978) and an MBA from Harvard Business School (1982). He started at American Express, then worked with Sandy Weill at Commercial Credit (which evolved into Citigroup through mergers). After being ousted from Citigroup in 1998, he joined Bank One as CEO in 2000, turned it around, and engineered its 2004 merger with JPMorgan Chase. He became JPMorgan's CEO shortly after. He is married to Judith Kent (since 1983) and has three daughters. Dimon is widely regarded as one of the most influential and outspoken CEOs in finance.
