The first time I saw this video.. I couldn’t understand it. Someone knew she was injured. Someone saw this broken leg and instead of helping her, they loaded her onto a trailer and sent her away. Sent her somewhere they didn’t have to look at her. I’ll never understand how we reached a place where an animal can become disposable. I don’t understand the healthy horses that end up here. I don’t understand the seniors that gave everything they had. AND,I will never understand horses with devastating injuries being thrown away as if they never mattered. When I received this video, I just said yes, because if I didn’t… what happened next was already decided. That’s how most of our rescues happen. In the last week alone we’ve said yes to this mare, multiple owner surrenders, and we’re now being asked to help another group of horses with nowhere else to go. We don’t always know how we’ll make it work. We just know that someone has to try. When ‘they’ walk away, we walk toward them. Thats what this ASIAB community does.
