My personal head cannon is that Mel is very aware that she’s crushing on Langdon but knows he’s married and so shouldn’t be. I don’t think Langdon is entirely aware of his feelings for Mel. I think he finds her fascinating and has never met anyone like her, but isn’t quite understanding his attraction to her yet. I cannot wait to see how this plays out
