@eunaeemily: “You’re going to ruin their lives.” I read variations of this sentiment thousands of times as I shared trying to find my family on social media platforms. The comments were no more cruel than the darkest things I had said to myself. It was just that now I could see that I wasn’t the only person who thought those things. Here it was in black and white how much I didn’t deserve. I wish I could go back to the me five years ago and treat that version of me with the kindness and understanding that I’m always able to extend to everyone but myself. I wish I could tell myself that everything is about to change, that the world as I know it is going to burst open in the most beautiful and glorious ways and that for the very first time in my life — I will be truly seen. #koreanadoptee #koreanadoption #adoptionjourney #adoptionstory #adopteevoices
