Pray for God to reveal himself to you. Ask him to meet you where you are, ask him the hard questions. He wants a relationship with you whenever you decide to really come to him. I pray you receive an Encounter from him that will build your faith. ❤️

When I was 12 I pulled God for a chat letting them know that despite being brought up in a family with generations in the church, I had no real conception of what faith was or how to access it in a way that didn’t feel borrowed or mimicked. I told them that though I know they exist, I needed some time apart to figure out what feels true to me, and that if I found them again on my own terms, in my own time, then I knew that we’d be in this for long run. I was 19 the next time we ran into each other and that time apart did wonders for our relationship. I would never have this level of faith and intimacy with God without giving myself a change of pace. And now at 27, girl me and God be having a TIME. Do whatever you feel like you need to do in order to live a life that feels truest to you.😉

I feel this so much! Like I had a certain level of peace when I was clinging to God but the more I feel I have to fight for myself, the further I get from resting in Him. There’s a slight resentment there that Idk how to fix 😭

I think you said a few things here to pay attention to. You getting things done every single time and not waiting or resting in your faith is a sign that God is working for you. A reminder that faith is not about praying and waiting, but it is also about action and that’s exactly what you did. Faith without works is dead. So that means making those outcomes in those situations more favorable. And it may feel like you’re giving the credit a way bc a past version of yourself would have required more faith or help, whereas this version of you is more capable, wiser, mentally stronger to make things happen. It doesn’t mean it happens with the absence of God but you may need to tune into those ‘aha’ moments or spiritual synchronicities that make you realize it had to be God.

i personally am not a christian and have been agnostic for most of my conscious life despite being from a very catholic/christian family based in a very christian country. however, i know that many view god as giving you the strength to do something instead of seeing it as god being the one in control. even stuff like saying grace before a meal, i would often say thanks to god for giving the person who cooked the strength to make the meal. i know you are much older than me and have gone through so much (and that’s only what you give us access to) and as much i’d prefer everyone deconstruct, you still seem to value/want that connection. if that’s the case, i think believing that he provided you with tools and giving yourself the credit for working with what he gave you is the best way to maintain that connection and not build resentment.

Love, praying for you. Something I learned in my own deconstruction of my childhood faith is that deconstruction doesn’t have to be apart from God. Not knowing where to start is scary but also it was there that God met me. In the not knowing, there is a beautiful moment in the new testament where a desperate father comes to Jesus to save his son from demons and he says “ I believe but help my unbelief.” And Christ does exactly that, he saves his son along with his faith. God is big enough to be your help, comfort, and safe place even when you don’t believe. Love you and praying for you in your journey to seeking God in a new way.💖

There’s definitely a difference from religion and relationship, and I believe discovering that will change how one will interact with God. I know for me I had to decent myself and my problems and actually give it to him and yes, it still came with a lot of uncertainty disappointment however it’s like demolition in order to rebuild restore renew just like how they knocked down McDonald’s every five years to just give it a Refresh rebirth.
