The tour was boring… until the group reached the research lab. Behind glass sat a tray of experimental gum cubes, dark violet and glossy. “This gum keeps the chewer full for hours,” the guide warned. “It isn’t ready for human testing.” Zoey held one in her hand and smirked. She popped it into her mouth anyway. At first it tasted like rich ice cream… then the flavor shifted — cold, sweet, intense. Blueberry. The taste didn’t stay in her mouth. It felt like it poured through her, spreading downward like syrup. Someone pointed. “Zoey… your nose is turning blue.” Zoey ignored them and kept chewing. But the blueberry flavor kept getting stronger… and her body started reacting. Her fingers tingled — turning deep berry-blue — and a heavy fullness bloomed in her stomach.
