@sky.wav: Humanoid robot by the Chinese startup EngineAI preparing for battle #Humanoid #robot #agi #future Shenzhen-based EngineAI has opened registrations for its Ultimate Robot Knockout League (URKL), described as the world’s first professional competition for humanoid fighting. Unlike other recent robot fighting tournaments, the league will feature full-sized humanoids running completely autonomously. The startup says it will give 16 teams one of its heavy-duty T800 humanoids. They’ll optimize the robots for the ring by customizing their artificial intelligence and outfitting them with protective gear. Destructive mods and remote-control operation are strictly prohibited. The potential payoff is major. The winning team will take home ¥10 million ($1.4 million USD). The runner-up gets ¥2 million ($278,000) and third place gets ¥1 million ($139,000). Each participating team gets to keep their robot, while the top eight finalists get fast-tracked for an interview at the robotics firm.
