Seriously though- kid received a letter from UCs congratulating him for being such a high-level candidate. Then rejected him from 3 UCs and wait-listed at 2. Zero acceptances!

I thought you could tag to one major and then normal apply to another major for the same school..? Say like i tag to uci for econ and then apply normally later in the year for business admin

where I'm from we have guaranteed admission to state schools from community college as long as your AA degree is also a BA at the state school there are generally no issues I was accepted with just one application seems odd to do two applications just to transfer

I used TAG to go to UCLA back in the early 90s. Made the decision in high school. Too hard to try to get in with AP classes. I had to work and had no time for all that. Back door through community college

I remember when I apply for the UC schools I got mention that you have to tag a university that you want to add and go into at that time I didn’t know that I could’ve tag a school in which I miss the deadline which eventually I wanted to go to UC Davis and tag however I’ve never got to tag UC Davis and eventually got in without the tag and the UC Schools that I applied go into. It’s important to remember and see that TAG is important and be able to applied it once you transfer 🙏🏻

UCI has been ridiculous with the TAG program. Deadline to view grades is Spring 2026 but they denied me cuz I didn’t have all of my major courses completed by Fall 2025 when I’m taking my last course right now and meeting all requirements 🤦♀️

No, sounds more a breach of the implied warranty of merchantability if the community college advertises this as a recruiting point and counselors don’t align and assist to navigate the complex dysfunction you describe
