How big is the root system? Will the roots disturb the foundation of the home?

It’s literally just preference if you want a bush or a tree.

How to I stop the shoot things from growing at the bottom? I cut them constantly

I hate those ugly knots when people cut the tops off. And I’m sure those trimmers are a pretty penny.

I hate knuckled Myrtle’s, their natural shape is elegant. We just took ours up like this so it’s easy clearance height for mowing

I prefer mine to stay shorter so the blooms are in front of the window vs looking at tall sticks

I had to cut down a few big shoots because they were hanging over my house and hitting the roof and the window.

I just bought one called Purple Magic, its supposed to stay under 10', im pruning it to be an umbrella tree with a few main trunks, Question: can I trim the top if it tries to go over 10' (power lines are at 15') or would that mess the stems up that are already grown?

Caligirl__21 :
Ok but I hear you should not plant these in front of your house bc the roots grow under foundation and cause problems

How do I kill them though? We chopped it down but it keeps regrowing shoots. I need it gone.
