Everyone does NOT know everyone on the island. Vancouver island is huge and has a population close to a million people. And while Tofino’s population technically makes it a small town (roughly 2500) it hosts more than half a million people throughout the year. And even if it didn’t it’s still relatively hard for 2500 people to all know each other.
