@fifatrainingcentre: The defending champions had already lost their opening match against Mexico and were trailing Sweden before Marco Reus made it 1-1. In the dying seconds of the game, Germany were awarded a free-kick from a position that seemed almost impossible to score from. Toni Kroos played it to Reus, who stopped it dead to create a slightly better angle for the shot. Most people had anticipated a cross, but with 2 Sweden defenders closing in, Kroos beautifully curled the ball into the top-right corner with the inside of his foot, applying just enough spin to take it beyond Robin Olsen’s outstretched hand. Was that the most difficult position a free-kick has ever been converted from in FIFA World Cup history? #Football #FreeKick #WorldCup #FIFAWorldCup #Germany #ToniKroos
