@levonthestrokewarrior: This is the part of stroke recovery nobody talks about. After my stroke, I didn’t feel like myself anymore. My body changed. My confidence dropped. People expect you to be grateful just to be alive. But they don’t see the mental battle behind it. Rebuilding takes time. Some days are strong. Some days are hard. But every time you show up, you are making progress. You are not alone. #strokerecovery #strokeawareness #strokesurvivor #lifeafterstroke #confidenceafterstroke
I had my stroke in June 2024. I miss who I was before the stroke. I had so much confidence!!and working. Recovery is hard but, I am stronger everyday. I miss going to concerts and experiencing new things with my sister. Bright lights and noise bother me and I can’t walk long distances. When I do go to the store 30 minutes to an hour is all I can stand and I want to be back in the house. I am working off of faith. The scripture that comes to mind. GOD HAS NOT GIVEN YOU FEAR BUT OF LOVE, POWER AND A SOUND MIND. Everyone please stay encouraged on your hard days and keep pushing. The good!! Thing is that YOU ARE STILL HERE!!!

I had my stroke November 2023 and while I was in the hospital, my husband passed away two weeks later, then when I got out in February, 2024 basically I was home alone and I’m still alone. The hard thing for me is that I get depressed real quick because I love to cook and it’s hard for me to do that, but I do take it one day at a time but nobody that has been to it understands that you change the way you think and feel at time I do thank God I’m still here.

I had mine January 2026, not the way I wanted to start the new year. I have been doing therapy 2times a week and getting stronger. My boyfriend got me a hemispheric walker. Almost looks like a step stool but is actually a small walker, I walk around my home with that and of four with someone guiding me because my left side is not very strong yet but I have. Incidence it’s only going to get better.

Since my stroke I’ve never been the same since my personality has changed I live by myself. I also find it very difficult to get up and go like something is missing.

Nothing but positive things came from mine! Yes it was tons of work to recover to 97% but I was left with a better person than I ever was before. And positive thinking and a positive mindset helped. Ever tried?
