That Ballon d'or made people over hate Rodri and now people wanna fogert or overlook whatever he has done. Rodri's peak is better than most DM's peak..... he revolutionized that DM Role. I hate this "best midfielder" talks. What actually is a best midfielder? Can Pirlo put in tackles like Kante? No. But can Kante dictate game like Pirlo? No. Can KDB run up and down like Valverde? No. But can Valverde ever see passes that KDB sees? No. So there is absolutely never a "best midfielder". There are roles in midfield that someone can be good at but there is never a player that plays in the middle of the formation that is best at all of the qualities required to play there. Midfield is not as easy as say wing, or center back, or fullback, or striker. Your performance metric isn't constant for everyone, the roles are where you can excel at.
