The Asian elephant was tortured suffering exploited and abused by the mahout. Elephant do not want tourists on their backs it's painful and they are beaten daily by their mahouts to make go under submissions. Their spirits are broken and the painting on their delicate skin is how they regulate their body temperature so this elephant suffocated as well as tortured to death.
