Lmao no. As someone who's done mutliple perms, its a lot more complicated then that. For one, we ask our clients how tight they want their curls to be. Then, if their unsure, show them the different sizes of perm rods. After picking the curl they want, we do a strand analysis to see what type of perm would work best. (For coarse hair, usually alkaline is best. For fine hair, usually acid is best. But there are different variables.) Yes, a perm is damaging to your hair. But 9/10 it should not destroy it, and if it does, then thats on the stylist. They either should have used a weaker perm solution, or just denied you for the service. A nody perm is literally the exact same as a normal perm. The biggest difference is the size of the rod, which is almost always going to be the same material as the smaller rods.
