Making friends in adulthood is not easy. I can relate. I’m taking this time to take a step back; doing therapy, heavy in my Bible and just living. I picked up a hobby and just from solo adventures I have met ppl along the way. It’s easier said than done but don’t be hard on yourself. Life in your authentic truth and all that’s amazing will gravitate to you

it’s so hard. I left a church for this reason, an amazing one too. But I was there too long not to have friends. Yes , friendships take time but we’re not to be in this walk alone! I struggled to connect, eventually just started feeling so disappointed because I just wasn’t having the genuine church experience , and it brought me to my knees in tears to the Lord letting him know to please put me in a church where I can meet people easier and still serve you. Long story short , he did. And now, I have been meeting people and connecting, still new at the church and don’t have strong solid friendships (yet bc I’m new) but it’s been such a better experience! I should’ve been more honest with the Lord from the beginning I started feel super lonely.

Do you initiate hangouts? I’ve been going to the same workout class for a year and it took that long to form a friendship with some of the girls. We’re still at the very beginning of it

Those type of relationships take timeee to find and one thing I have realized is you can’t force it. As you seek you will really find that like most are in it for the aesthetic. I have been okay with that to and take it for what is it but still prioritizing isolation and not getting lost in the seeking that real connection will happen if it’s supposed to happen

Maybe those deep knit Friends/ relationships aren’t necessarily in those life groups but as you keep building your relationship in Christ the right relationships will come.. let the Holy Spirit lead you to organic relationships and in the right season

If you want to have a village you have to be a villager. Intimacy in relationships is so important but you can’t force it. You just have to keep showing up in the ways that are authentic to you and you will find your people.

Same! Nothing really sticks. It’s been so hard to find friends that actually share my interests and are excited about and committed to making new friends themselves. I thought it was an Atlanta issue so I’m counting down the days until I can move again!
