When she was surrendered to the shelter, that hope slowly faded. The kennel is loud. The days are cold. And Vivi has been quietly getting sicker. Vivi is suffering from severe anemia caused by pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection. Without immediate surgery and intensive medical care, she will not survive. She is weak, exhausted, and fighting an infection that has gone untreated for far too long. Still, Vivi hasn’t given up. When someone kneels by her kennel, she lifts her head. When a gentle hand reaches out, she leans into it — as if asking, “Please don’t forget me.” But time is running out.
