Pattern recognition and hyper awareness are traits you pick up being mistreated deliberately and unfairly growing up. Unfortunately when these traits become your default setting, loneliness is inevitable. I'm talking even the friend who embellishes a little explaining stories get a side eye and eventually is faded out of your life because trust and safety are the biggest priorities when pattern recognition is running on autopilot.

I can always tell when my husband is upset with something because his footsteps change. I grew up with an abusive mother and stepfather. Emotionally, physically. It sucks but the pattern recognition is SO real.
