No one talks about how there's not enough Asian representation in weight loss. When I was on my journey to lose 50 pounds years ago, the thing I struggled most with was the low-calorie healthy foods. I went on social media and found thousands of viral low-calorie high-protein trendy foods to try, only to spend so much money making the recipes and being so disappointed when they turned out tasting so bland and boring. Not to mention there were absolutely no recipes that had real Asian flavors...the only thing that resembled “healthy Asian meal prep” was chicken teriyaki 😂 And so for that reason I really struggled with binge eating because I'm a foodie at heart.  It was only until I realized that you can make macro-friendly versions of your favorite foods, whether they're your favorite Asian comfort foods that you grew up eating or favorite takeout options, that it was so much easier to lose the weight. It's pretty simple: when you're enjoying the process and actually looking forward to the food that you're eating, you're going to be able to stick to your goals a lot longer.  And now having lost over 50 pounds and taking control of my fitness and health for the past six years, I can confidently say, whoever tells you that you need to give up Asian food in order to get in shape is just setting you up for failure.  So if you ever wondered why I post so many low-calorie high-protein Asian-inspired recipes that most importantly taste good, it's because I was always told I had to give Asian food up to see results, which I know is no longer true 😌 #asianfood #weightlossjourney
