4 years ago I was in a car accident that changed my life. Two men were in a road rage battle I was unaware of on the freeway going 80mph. One was brake checked and swerved so fast he t-boned the drivers side of my car. The airbags deployed and I didn’t know what hit me. I was blind on the freeway because of the airbags and didn’t know where I was so I slammed on my brakes, and we were hit from behind by a semi truck who didn’t even have time to hit his brakes. It all happened so fast and the only thing I cared about when I came to, was my son. Where was he, was he ok, even though I later learned I had multiple concussions, a 5 inch facial laceration, and a broken neck. None of it mattered, the blood everywhere, the only thing I cared about in that moment was my son. He was also on the drivers side, but ended up being protected by angels. I still thank the lord for protecting him. He only had a small scratch under his ear from his seatbelt, but after two doctors checked him out, he was miraculously ok. 🥹🙏🏻 After I got home from the hospital he said to me, “mom, I saw you die.” The second hit from the semi truck knocked me unconscious, and I passed out again before the ambulance came. My mom guilt, simply for the fact that he saw me like that, and thought I’d died in front of him is….. well, a large part of the trauma I’ve dealt with since. I think it’s interesting as a parent that your child’s existence and their well-being can trump any ailment you could possibly have. What a beautiful thing it is to be able to love so fully, so purely. That’s the love of a parent. And I know not everyone has that kind of relationship with their parents or their children, but I hope my children will always remember that from me. 🥹 Someone once told me, after I told them this story, “you know you were protected by angels that day too.” It brought me to tears, even my guardian angels loved me enough to keep me here, so I could keep being a mother. 🥹 Life is so precious. Love deeply and purely. We only have a short while. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 #caraccident #traumarecovery #fitforlife #motivation #fitnessmotivation
