I’m from the south where we all have guns… Never once in my 60 years have I ever had a conversation with another parent when my kids were growing up, about guns in their home. The conversations started in our home, we taught our kids about gun safety, and it was never an issue.

Why don't all parents have conversations with there children about gun safety? Parents everyday warn children that the stove is hot not to put things in outlets not to put anything in the toaster but toast ect.. All it takes it to teach your children not to touch the guns and why!!! Of course the guns should be safety put away but still conversations with your kids are important.

Never spoke to other parents about guns in their homes when our kids were growing up. We did, however, teach our kids about gun safety and NEVER to touch a firearm without direct adult supervision. Never had a problem.

Not once, in 62 years and my hubby is 65, have we had to have this convo. I’m from Los Angeles, and he’s from a very small town in SC. He’s also retired military, and VERY familiar with firearms. Do we own them? We may. Do we talk about them to everyone we know? NOOOOO! HISSSSSSSSSS (Like Luke does! 🤣🤣)

O had this conversation with my niece. She simply asked when her boys got big enough to open doors themselves. She knows we don’t have children so may not be used to gun safety with kids in the house. We luv in the country, most homes have at least one gun. I appreciate her being such a cautious parent.

Never had this conversation with my neighbors and I’m from the North, however I do inform parents I do have guns locked away and my kids know gun safety.

It is insane that you have to talk to your neighbors about guns. in new Zealand no one is allowed to own a gun anymore without the right license and check ups and gun safes now
