So YOU went no contact and now YOU decided to reach out. She grieved your loss from her life and moved on. Did you expect her to just be like frozen in time, ready and waiting for you to waltz back into her life? She is telling you that her pain was so significant, that she doesn’t want you to come back and expect her to be different and when she isn’t, you again walk away and she has to go through grieving again. Before it goes further, she is setting the boundaries to let you back in. I see absolutely nothing wrong with her response. Just because she’s not immediately throwing her arms wide doesn’t mean she isn’t willing to build the bridge, but that she’s not going to let you dictate that process.

It’s interesting to say it’s not ethical to share your mom’s response, but still bring the situation to the internet. That kind of creates a one-sided story, especially when the other person’s voice is missing. The kind of loss she experienced is real.
