Cop here. We read Miranda warnings and give that opportunity for the person in custody to invoke their rights. Whether they chose to or not is up to them 🤷🏼♀️. I don’t coerce in any way. I write my PC and let the state attorney handle from there

Remember this phrase y’all: “I am invoking my right to stay silent. I want an attorney.”

I remember something my Mom taught me: “Not every thought that pops into your head has to come out of your mouth.” That lesson has served me well in many situations.

Not me jk it totally is me. :
I can’t win an argument with my wife even if I’m 100% correct and innocent. I’m too traumatized to talk to a cop without an attorney.

If I understand correctly “anything you say can be used against you.” Is always in play. Even our comments in the section. If anyone here is ever arrested anything stated here can be used against them in a court of law. Also, it doesn’t need to be criminal court. It could be small claims court, worker’s compensation or even family court. Is this correct?

If the cops are questioning you they already think you are guilty. Nothing you say will change that, so say nothing without legal representation

A friend of mine who’s husband is a cop told me once that cops will try to get you to talk by saying they’re trying to help you, but what they’re really trying to do is build their case. Don’t say anything and get a lawyer. Best advice ever
