This was a priority when my ex and I separated and even during the relationship…. Not to fight around him or speak badly of the other to him. It’s not always easy but you have to have enough self control to walk away if you start to get heated. It’s 1,000,000% worth it!

It's difficult though. Divorced parents get speration anxiety because they have set times with mom and dad. I don't agree fully with what he says

Not to take away from how important this is… but this is definitely not what the research shows is the biggest predictor of childhood well being.

I went to therapy and worked on myself so that I could be amicable with my daughter’s father. We go out to the park, for pizza, ice cream etc because our relationship ended but their relationship doesn’t have to be. Our daughter’s well being is the most important to both us. She was only 15 months when we separated. She js now 7 1/2 and thriving.

I had that kind of relationship with my ex gf. We was together for 4 years, but we always wished for the other to do well in life when we left each other

I was lucky to have him just walk away. So my children only get to see how much they are loved

My teenage stepkids live with my husband and I. I get along great with their mother and support them everyday. It makes a huge difference when kids experience peace, maturity and love. The only thing they have to worry about is school and personal development.

no staying together in bad marriage does same damage to kids as healthy divorce. divorce will always be a bad thing. kids adapt but it changes who they are forever just as a bad marriage would.

It sucks when you try to continue with healthy communication to co parent and they still choose to stay toxic.

This applies to such small percentage of divorced couples that its not worth mentioning because its not what the data shows....kids suffer under divorce.

💯 yes. Grew up in a household were parents refused to divorce because they believed it was a sin but resented each other the whole 40 years , fighting and manipulating constantly. So much drama and trauma
