It’s the fact Ed Norton wanted a dark and gritty story to the hulk like the comics but the mcu got annoyed that he wanted the character done that way and replaced him for a more easily directed actor

To think that everytime hulk comes out, it's to protect someone. Most of the time it's Bruce, alot of the times it was Betty. Sometimes it's the avengers or just people and then even when hulk is calm (which he can be) banner fights to take control. Hulk never chose to be angry, he has to be. In the 2008 incredible hulk I think his first words are literally "leave me alone"

I think it’s dumb that they changed actors because Edward Norton wanted a darker hulk he wanted the hulk we saw in 2008 and he rewrote a lot of the 2008 script and to this day that’s still my favorite interpretation of the hulk
