Two weeks away from 10 years of pastoring. 🥹 As I reflect on this journey, I keep thinking about August 2018, when we launched Liberation Night just before transitioning our church's name from Shekinah International Christian Assembly to Liberate Church. If I'm completely transparent, during our first two years of pastoring, we drew back. We went by Pastor instead of Apostle and Prophet. We didn't fully lean into the gifts, the supernatural, deliverance, or the fivefold identity God had given us. In a religious, heavily conservative culture like Dallas where comfortable church can often be easier to build, embracing everything God called us to be required courage. Then God applied pressure... In 2018, He made it clear that it was time to stop shrinking and build what He actually called us to build. So we made a decision... We would rather build something authentic in obedience than something impressive through compromise. Would it have been easier to build a church that never made anyone uncomfortable? Absolutely! Would it have been easier to avoid deliverance, prophetic ministry, spiritual gifts, and teachings that challenge people to mature and walk in purpose? Absolutely! Maybe we could have grown faster.🤷🏾‍♀️ But numbers without obedience were never the goal...FRUIT was. Eight years after that first Liberation Night and nearly 10 years into pastoring, I'm proud that the name Liberate Church has now become synonymous with 👉🏾freedom, 👉🏾deliverance, 👉🏾prophetic demonstration, 👉🏾breakthrough, 👉🏾spiritual maturity, 👉🏾purpose 👉🏾and mostly importantly...loving people. We stopped apologizing for the house God called us to build and He has been faithful. 👉🏾Ten years of learning. 👉🏾Ten years of stretching. 👉🏾Ten years of warfare. 👉🏾Ten years of miracles. 👉🏾Ten years of lives being changed. And we're just getting started.
