People who criticize the anime for its looks are so childish. Precisely, a story as Aku no Hana, with the themes and tone it handles, benefits a lot from the uncanny valley realistic rotoscoped models have. The imperfection and ambiguity of every human being reflects much better than in a manga with stylized and static characters. The manga is a masterpiece but the anime did something incredible and very brave.
