Always the smartest guy in the room. I’ve loved him since I was 10 years old (almost 50 years ago) and I still do. He is the only famous person I can think of who didn’t turn out to be a huge disappointment. Just a lovely, lovely man.

I remember reading that he left thinking he didn’t get the role because George was silent during his audition. Weeks later in a routine rundown by his agent she mentioned he got cast in “that space movie” before moving on, he was so shocked he stopped her and was like “wait go back I got what?”
