I was sentenced to 10, did 5 and 2 months, my family took care of my 3 children, when I was released my 3 children were 11, 13 and 14 and I bought a house and finished raising them. My crime was voluntary manslaughter, I hired 2 private attorneys since my crime started out with a higher charge. Was I hit on my CO’s yes, did I accept Hell No! Was I hit on by inmates, Yes, but hell no for them as well. I did my time and got the F out of dodge, back in 2001! It’s been nearly 30 years since I was incarcerated and seems like a life time ago! I was a battered woman and self defense was not legal in my state. I just ran across your page this evening and glad you’re doing well! You have some good advise that can possibly help others…Take care…
