Most people including your family will give you advice out of good intention, but that doesnt mean the advice is good for you, thats why its important to have and independant mind and welcome all advices but at the end you choose.

i once told my mom: i don’t need your advice in this i just need you to believe in me and not voice your concerns because i have the same worries, and that’s when she finally got it. Guys it’s worth the aggravation when you are doing something you love.

As an adult, you don't have to tell your parents everything. If you feel they are trying to manipulate you by telling you what to do with your life, give them the same energy back and just do what you planned to do. Life is too short to live for someone else.
