From my experience it does pay well and sells better than my SFW. people are often willing to put a good bit of extra money into commissioning it so if its a thing youre interested and comfortable with I think its worth trying out

Myth, mostly. You're cut off from using most advertising avenues that other artists use, many other artists will treat you like a pariah, and you're constantly waging war with payment processors. There are a few very exceptional artists who make a ton of money, but that's true of SFW, too. A lot of it also just comes down to the audience you build; NSFW artists have a hard time swapping to SFW because it's not what people followed them for, and the reverse is also true.

Both. It does pay more, but you can’t usually just jump in to it. It’s an entire brand and market that you have to establish a name in. the same way you can’t just start an OF and see results, you have to build a brand and portfolio in that industry to gain the interest and take work from artists who have been doing it longer and more consistently.

1/2 honest to god here's my take: e6 has a more predictable algorithm. As in it doesn't have one. It's easy for your target audience to find you.

it sells a little better, but you’re never going to be living off your art. and NSFW is so much harder to advertise and make an audience out of. I’d say doing both is your best bet
