Yoga teacher here - I could give a Ted Talk on this but my spicy take is that a lot of teachers hide behind the heat. If you can’t curate a class that helps students build that true inner heat to make them sweat like a heated class…you need to up your game as a teacher 🙃 I can’t stand when classes are so hot I can’t breathe. It takes away from your practice, pushes the wrong kind of edges.

My biggest pet peeve is when I’m not actually WORKING in a heated class. Like yes I like being hot but I came here to work out IN the heat- not just sit in it

To answer your question, Yes regular Matt pilates & regular Barre have me sweating balls . But yes heated classes should be maybe once or twice a week .

i just started going to this hot power pilates class as a regular sculpt gal and it is mostly standing and 110 degrees! half the time i am getting nauseous from the heat and not the workout
