@ohshiditsalyssa: POSSIBLY RELABLED EXPIRED FOOD FOUND AT WORLD FRESH INTERNATIONAL MARKET IN SW OKC? EDIT: lots of discourse on whether or not it’s still good, and i feel like it goes without saying, even if the product is good, relabeling house-made goods such as this with no manufacturing date is not safe practice. i have 0 clue how long the product has been on the shelves. its visibly browned and leaking, and yes, pickled…. but you just can’t relabel stuff like that because it’s pickled. i implore those who wonder why this is a big deal to look into OKs food code regarding “ready to eat” foods. generally, prepared foods such as this are supposed to be discarded after 7 days being stored at 41 degrees or below. you have no clue how long they’ve been there like this, if they’ve already removed past labels and relabeled, and if that’s applicable, it’s certainly concerning. and if you think there was no need to point out that this is unsafe…. let me know so i know to never eat at your place! also, before you leave that comment saying i’m targeting asian grocery stores… im japanese american…. and have never posted a similar video nor did i mention ethnicity, but go off i guess. not sure there is a reasonable explanation for this! i hope it isn’t what it seems, but i wanted to warn other shoppers!! the daikon and carrots were visibly not very good in quality, further leading us to suspect they’d just relabeled old food. i’m fearful it could make someone sick, so i wanted to warn who i could! #fyp #okc #swokc

We’ve seen this and take it seriously. We’ve removed the product immediately and are reviewing our process and retraining staff to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We appreciate this being brought to our attention.

I believe those are fresh veggies. Not cooked. How can they expire?

This store used to be a few blocks north on 89th & Penn. It was under another name, but it was condemned and closed. I used to manage a neighboring property and after seeing their practices I wasn't surprised.

I was just about to defend the situation and say that maybe they punched in the wrong month and just re-printed the label… but then I saw how old the other labels were underneath. Pretty sure it’s literally a month off.

We go there. I have never purchased any of their soups from their deli area, but it’s definitely a cool place to walk around and look at all the different food, spices candies, and different trinkets that you could purchase.

Not wanting to defend them but is it possible they are dumping out expired product and reusing packaging? I’m only wondering because the underneath labels look very worn and old. I don’t think produce could last long enough to look like that without visibly molding/rotting.

Unfortunately all stores do this. They may not make it obvious with the stickers like this. Just like pre-seasoned raw meat at grocery stores is nothing but old meat. Ground beef, old meat wrapped in fresh ground beef. There’s certain things that i buy at any grocery stores. I bought a case of noodles from Super Cao Nguyen that was expired a year ago. I just returned it. I never buy pre-made items like these. I shop here all the time.

I will have to say that those items are fermented items so they can stay long in the shelf
