i hate to say it, even though reed has a phd, he also has a LARGE incentive to overhype things(which he’s known to do) so that he can make more money from social media. i would be mindful about getting your information from him and then spreading it. trey(i think) of convective chronicles is an AWESOME person to listen to for anything forecast related as his videos focus solely on the science w/o the push for views. just my opinion. also, be careful, in general, with saying that there WILL be a large number of tornadoes. it’s not the best forecasting practice. really, all we know is that conditions are pointing toward a higher likelihood of an above average tornado count. so, it’s better to say that there COULD be more tornadoes than normal.

I get having the gut feeling about tornadoes getting worse again in general but Jesus, Christ Reed Timmer is like the reality tv of tornadoes even if he has a phd. Even then if you do have accurate intuition you can still be wrong. I’d say lately is more like the mid 2000s in the same kind of vein of years expected to be horrible but producing mostly strong ef4s with some strong ef5s I believe were not quite at that horrific 2011-2013 bs quite yet which is annoying as shit to me because those years are how I actually got into tornadoes more specifically the Dixie outbreak of 2011.
