Autozone does it for free and if the employee is chill enough they might clear the codes as well

do NOT clear codes for things you haven't REPAIRED. as a mechanic myself, you are causing yourself more headaches when the problem exacerbates and becomes a whole engine repair. go to O'Reilly auto parts get them to use their scan tool and print out the code read. then go to a reputable mechanic and fix what you can afford and keep up on maintenance. CLEARING CODES WITHOUT REPAIRING DOES NOTHING.

all it does is just tells you the error code. doesnt tell you what it means or how to fix it. and "clearing it" doesnt fix it either. it just tells your car that the error "has been fixed". its definitely useful to get to get to the fixing part, but this alone isnt gonna fix it.

it doesn't tell you what's wrong. It just gives you diagnostic trouble codes for the system that is having issues.

guaranteed it doesn't read body codes. walmart has the Hyper Tough that does what this does at a fraction of the cost.
