Also that is what the techs use that work for John Deere I worked for them for a short time and asked if they had aluminum versions or other materials and nope we did get a whole roll of the wedge filler tho

If don’t have the special ring I have taken a zip tie and cut it to length and put it in the groove. If you have a bench grinder I have ground one side of the zip tie down to fit perfect

Don’t knock that damn thing any farther passed the groove either. The plunger will block the hole and it’s a pain to break it loose. Ask me how I know

I keep several filler rings off of 115 mm hitch cylinders so always have enough extra length to cut to fit for smaller cylinders

I've never heard anyone refer to those as snap rings. in automotive we call those circlips.
