Because with smoking you can put it to the side and leave it alone if you wanna quit and if you want it again you can always just start it up again. But loving something that makes you feel nothing but sorrow is pointless they’re not coming back let it go. I know it’s real ignorant to say but why love something such as that when you know, no benefits come from holding onto something like that, the only time it benefits is when you learn from that said experience you had and the negative feelings you experienced and you growing from that experience via getting over it. Time doesn’t heal everything especially your mental, you have to put yourself out there and I don’t mean in a relationship type of manor I mean in a more like find something to pursue that is more likely to benefit rather than discourage
