Numerous concerns have been brought to the attention of the management of the Patriotic League of Uganda regarding your conduct and statements concerning the Balokole and Pentecostal churches, particularly allegations of attacks against these religious communities. As a party, we believe in the protection of the rights and freedoms of all Ugandans, including the freedom of worship, religious expression and peaceful assembly as guaranteed under the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. We recognise the important role played by religious institutions in promoting moral values, social harmony, peace and the well-being of our communities. The management of the Patriotic League of Uganda has therefore sat and decided that these concerns must be addressed through the appropriate internal disciplinary procedures. We believe that political leadership must be exercised with responsibility, respect for the law and due regard for the rights and freedoms of every citizen, regardless of their religious affiliation. I have requested a formal investigation into these allegations as part of the disciplinary process. Meanwhile, pending the outcome of the investigation and the applicable internal procedures, you are advised to cooperate fully with the relevant authorities and comply with any duly communicated interim administrative measures.
