His daughter died in a room locked from the outside, where she was starved. A makeshift cage was set up in the dining room for Buskey’s 3-year-old son. Cocaine was found in the systems of both children. Buskey was sentenced to 27 years-to-life for second-degree murder and providing a controlled substance to a child. Buskey told the court there was no excuse for what he did and said he was taking responsibility for the harm done to both children.
