@itsakidearest: The tragedy that happened at the Pokemon Center on March 26, 2026 occurred when the ex boyfriend of an employee took her life while at work. After their breakup, the boyfriend became a stalker which led to her reporting him to the police. While he was arrested and received a no contact order, it wasn’t enough to stop the horrible tragedy that ended with both losing their lives. The Pokemon center now has upped security and has paused events indefinitely. What does this say about the stalking laws of Japan? What do you think could have been done? #japan #pokemon #japannews
I saw another video on this that mentioned that police told her to change her place of employment, but working at the pokemon center was her dream job. Women shouldn't have to change where they work to protect themselves from being stalked

this is horrible that's happened but it's the world that needs to look at stalking differently Japan sounds like it has the same kind of laws the US does maybe even looser but neither of those countries take stalking a seriously

i wish US and Japan (and other places) took stalking seriously. i have experienced it before, it is so miserable and terrifying especially when authorities dont do anything to actually help.

I saw a video of people fleeing right after it happened. It’s so incredibly sad and my heart hurt so deeply for this poor woman who tried to protect herself only to still lose her life in such a tragic terrifying way. It’s just so sad and never should have been allowed to happen.

This is just fucked up really like they should have done more for her but didn't I'm glad that there's guards there, but maybe there should be more guards in other places as well, not just the Pokemon centre.
