@adelghad: Here’s the proper way to do a SECRET marriage in Islam Did you know that a secret marriage has a specific ruling in Islamic fiqh and the four madhabs actually disagree on whether it is even valid? The Maliki madhab takes the strictest position a secret nikah is completely invalid. For them public announcement is not just recommended, it is a condition of the marriage itself. If the witnesses are told to stay quiet, the entire contract falls apart. The Hanafi, Shafi’i and Hanbali madhabs say the nikah is technically valid as long as two witnesses were present but deliberately hiding the marriage is sinful and goes against the sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ who specifically encouraged announcing marriages openly. The scholars emphasised publicity in marriage for deep reasons protecting the woman’s rights, establishing paternity, securing inheritance for children, and creating accountability between spouses. In today’s world this discussion connects directly to misyar and urfi marriages which contemporary scholars are still debating. Same Islam. Same nikah. Four different answers on whether it even counts. Follow for more fiqh that will change the way you think.
I don't want a secret marriage I want a private one ,

My father has a secret 2nd wife. Is it right to tell my mom about it? Is it even permissible?

I just don’t understand what the plan would be if the girl falls pregnant? People will think she committed zina. People need to know the lineage of the child aswell? It’s very confusing

Please don’t enter secret marriages. There are almost no valid reasons for it. Many people justify it by saying it’s to avoid zina, but doing something in a hidden, unclear way is not the solution Islam teaches. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Publicize the marriage.” (Musnad Ahmad)
A marriage in Islam is meant to be clear, protected, and honorable — not hidden. And in reality, secrecy often benefits one side more than the other, especially leaving the woman without protection or rights.
Also, if you live in a non-Muslim country, it’s extremely important to have your marriage legally registered. If something goes wrong, you have no legal protection otherwise.
Protect yourself. Do things properly, for Allah — not in a rushed or hidden way.

in southeast Asia they often do force marriage. some ppl do love marriage in halal way but the family is so mad at them that they would kill the couple (mostly kill the girl but sometimes the boy to). so some ppl do secret halal marriage without telling their parents or family and then run away
