Podiatrists hate barefoot shoes. Most modern walking surfaces like concrete, tile, hard wood are not conducive to foot and joint health when paired with barefoot shoes. If you’re walking on grass all day maybe but not the case with most people. And most people don’t have the ankle mobility to wear barefoot shoes to begin with which can just lead to more issues. It’s all hype and marketing

barefoot shoes are great for walking on nature trails that have natural flexibility. but they hurt my joints really badly when I walk on asphalt or paved sidewalks, so I'm not so sure about using them for everday walking. I think on modern surfaces we should use shoes with padding. I do really like when shoes have a wide toe box so that our toes can splay out naturally and the whole foot can move as intended. sadly I have not found any shoes that have a wide toe box but also padding, most of them are barefoot shoes.

psa: if you have plantar fasciitis, DON'T use barefoot shoes. your foot fascias are already overworked, you need as much padding as possible!

All of these have such tight toe boxes, if the toe box does not have the space for sufficient toe splay it defeats the purpose of barefoot shoes. This is just zero drop

Barebarics! They look THE BEST and the most "normal", out of all of the brands. Also I just got a pair of Barebound Orpheus dress shoes and again, beautiful and normal looking with a wide toe box ❤️
