@lionfishextermination: Feral cats are a problem, but the way to deal with it needs to be humane. #feralcat #invasivecat #lionfish @Alex Borsutzky @Diveforcee @Nathaniel Sorensen
Feral cats are not destroying the native bird and squirrel population so they are more annoying than harmful. Unlike the lion fish.

Auburn Woman :
Feral cats are home grown, not an invasive species. Also there are programs that spade and neuter strays that are captured.

There are also multiple different processes to keep the cat population as low as possible in a lot of different states, maybe not countries. But where I’m from you can call the Humane Society. They’ll pick it up spay or neuter it and drop it off where it was. You can also take feral cats places, and get them fixed. Those are today’s humane standards for cats.. (fishing) has been a humane process for centuries, and this specific process for lionfish contains legal regulations allow allowing you to fish. Just like the legal regulations allow people to spay a neuter cats. 🙏

This seems to be a lion fish hotspot! There were so many in this video. And all clustered together.

Where I used to live on Emerald Isle there is a city run catch, spay/neuter, release program. It’s been a huge success in lowering the wild cat issue.

Cats should definitely be kept indoors whenever possible. Feral cats should be trapped and released whenever possible to prevent further breeding. It's unfortunately, a message that isn't getting through to so many, especially in some countries.

There a lot of organizations that trap feral cats and spay and neuter and release them. They not as dangerous as lionfish are to the reefs

Cats (in this context) are considered domesticated which by definition means under "human control" and or bred for a purpose. Big difference between a wild animal and a domesticated one we created to be dependent on us.
