I have had this question for a really long time. How come in breaking dawn part 1, Alice can show Aro her vision of them defeating the voulturi, even though wolves are involved in the fight? In the books, like in New Moon, Alice says she couldn’t see Bella get saved from the water while cliff jumping because it was Jacob (a wearwolf) that saved her, and that she can’t see wolves in her visions. Did Stephanie Meyer just let the movie producers go against her rules?

I don't think it's quite that simple. For one, Carlisle was the son of an Anglican pastor. Divorce is practically the foundation of that particular brand of faith. While Carlisle didn't agree with his father's approach to life, all we know about his faith is that he believes in God, souls, heaven and hell. That's not a whole lot of info and applies to countless people who are not particularly religious and get divorced plenty. His "suggestion" that Alice and Jasper get married, as controlling as it sounds, is on brand for the 1950s. Living together unmarried is a relatively newly accepted concept. While Carlisle follows his own moral code, he does not act particularly Christian. Going around playing God changing people into vampires, covering up murders, drugging defenceless humans etc etc are not the actions of someone guided by faith. Carlisle is hands down my favourite character in the saga, but this image of him as a religious goody two shoes is inconsistent with his actions. He has a lot of good values but is also very shady.

I feel like everyone eventually figures out that Edward can read their minds so they all just developed shields that he doesn’t know about. One day Alice brings it up to Bella. “Yeah, I knew you would eventually be revealed to have a shield so I just learned how to make one and taught everyone else. Edward was too busy brooding to notice.”
