There are waterproof tattoo bandages! I just got one last week and he put one on and I bought sheets of them on Amazon! I put a piece of gauze over the tattoo to keep the sun off and then the clear bandage/tape stuff and worked perfect!

i got my first tattoo on june the 3rd and ten days later i went on vacation... didn't go to the sea and the pool for the whole week 😭😭😭 i learned my lesson since then
